About Us

American Race Cars is a young company built on years of motorsports experience combined with an unbridled passion and enthusiasm for sportsman drag racing.  Based in Millbury, OH American Race Cars has used it's personnel, experience, and willpower to become a force in the sportsman dragster market in the companies brief history.

Co-Owner Mark Horton is a former IHRA World Champion (Super Rod, 1999) with over twenty years of racing experience.  His partner Travis Colangelo has several divisional, national, and big dollar E.T. bracket wins to his credit over the same time period.  The two have combined their years of experience to develop a revolutionary new swing-arm uni-shock design 4-link dragster that is easily adjusted to work as flawlessly with a 1,200 horsepower Big-Chief 632 as with a conventional headed 540 cid engine.

Since it’s inception in late 2004, American Race Cars has quickly become one of the premier chassis builders in sportsman racing.  Several championship drivers and teams have made American Race Cars their weapon of choice for competition in Super Comp (Quick Rod), Top Dragster, and bracket categories.
