Ray Connolly Earns Torco Race
American Race Cars would like to congratulate Ray Connolly on his Super Comp victory at the Route 66 Nationals last weekend. Connolly piloted his American Race Cars dragster through one of the toughest fields in national event competition (including each of the 2007 Jeg’s All-Stars competitors) to defeat Kurt Damron, Jr. in the final round. Along the way, Connolly defeated teammate and defending world champion Ron Erks, Division 1 Champion and Jeg’s All-Stars entrant Mike Robilotto, and rising stars Brina Springlaire and Damron among others en route to the title.
Connolly had a banner weekend all around, as he nearly joined an elite list of competitors to “Double” in NHRA National Event competition. He made the final round of Super Gas competition in his Corvette roadster before falling to Brian Forrester.
Connolly’s Super Comp victory marked the first NHRA National Event win for American Race Cars. Other American Race Cars customers also achieved success over the weekend, as Jeff Brown earned his second IHRA Pro-Am victory at the wheel of his American Race Cars built Top Dragster machine in Kanawha Valley, WV. Ray Wilkins drove his American Race Cars machine to his third consecutive final round at Pittsburgh Raceway Park, while Luke Bogacki advanced to the semi-finals of the $50,000 Ultimate 64 Shootout at Mountain Park Dragway. American Race Cars would like to congratulate each of these competitors, and thank them for their business!
